Female flowers solitary, sometimes co-axillary with a male inflorescence, or 1–5 in racemiform or subumbelliform bisexual (with 1–4 male flowers) or rarely wholly female pedunculate axillary clusters; peduncles 0·8–2·5 cm. long; pedicels of racemose flowers 2·5–5 mm. long, of solitary flowers 2·5–12 mm. long; ovary 3–3·5 mm. long, ellipsoid, rostrate; perianth as in male flowers.
Leaf-lamina 2·3–7·2 × 1·5–6·2 cm., membraneous, ovate or narrowly ovate, cordate or subtruncate at the base, finely punctate above, glabrous or almost so except for a few short setulae on veins beneath, unlobed, prominently sinuate-denticulate, acuminate, obtuse to acute, apiculate.
Seeds 2·5–2·8 × 1·4–1·6 × 0·2 mm., elliptic in outline, smooth, compressed.
Fruits 8–10 mm. in diameter, glabrous, globose; pedicels 4–14 mm. long.
Petioles 0·7–5·2 cm. long, glabrous or almost so.
Stem slender, glabrous or almost so.
Flowers monoecious.
