Stems 50–100 × 25–30 mm. Leaves stalkless, 3–7, narrowly ovate, 40–80 × 20–30 mm, dark green, margins wavy. Flower stem 100–300 mm long, fleshy, brittle, hairy, pale green or pinkish, 5–30-flowered. Flowers crowded, 4–4.5 × 3 mm, dull green and white to pale creamy yellow with a darker yellow to orange central area, externally hairy. Dorsal sepal porrect, c. 4 × 2 mm, green with pink margins. Lateral sepals divergent, c. 3 × 1.5 mm, green. Petals c. 3.5 × 1.5 mm, white. Labellum c. 4 × 3.5 mm, white to cream or pale yellow, with yellow basal patch; apex divided into 2 oblong, divergent lobes, each with entire or wavy margins; base with 2 linear or kidney-shaped calli.
Widespread and common; growing in dark, moist, sheltered situations on slopes and protected ridges in rainforest, slopes and flats, swampy areas around perennial springs and soaks adjacent to streams in wetter open forest in humus-rich soil; also colonises shady road embankments, roadside gutters and tracks.
