Origin: in China; brought into the U.S. in 1913 by Frank N. Meyer, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture; P.I. 36854. Not introd. but included because it has been used in research studies. Tree: tall; main branches with few side branches; leaves large. Fruit: large; elongated, tapering toward stylar end; skin reddish-brown; flesh sweet, firm; keeping quality rather good.
