Characteristics

Plants 0.3-10 cm. Stem leaves loosely incurved-twisted when dry, erect-spreading to spreading when moist, oblong, 1.2-1.8 mm; margins entire; apex acute, apiculus broad, short; costa ending near apex, abaxial surface covered by quadrate papillose cells at apex; basal laminal cells short-rectangular; distal cells 7-13 µm, smooth, walls somewhat thick. Specialized asexual reproduction by fusiform to elliptic gemmae, longitudinal walls absent. Sexual condition dioicous. Sporophytes unknown.
