Characteristics

Stem half-shrubby, corymbosely much-branched, branches spreading, leafy to the summit; leaves linear, obtuse, ciliate and pilose; heads small, subsessile, ending leafy branches; invol.-scales few, subacute; achenes pilose, 3-5 inches high, very much branched and ramulous, all the flowering branches leafy to the summit. The dried specimens are glaucous.
