Characteristics

Foliolis intimis obtusis. Radix tenuiter fusiformis, lignosa, basi fibroso-ramosa. Caulis jam e basi dividitur in caules plurimos, teretes, gracillimos, flexuosos, adscendentes, semipedales, hirsutiusculos, pl. purpurascentes, parum ramosos, monocephalos, fertiles superne aphyllos. Folia sparsa, subcoriacea, linearia, sessilia, subsecunda, hirsuto-ciliata, patentia, apice recurva, integerrima, 5'' longa, superiora breviora, ciliis ad basin foliorum confertis. Capitula erecta, terminalia, solitaria, breviter radiata, aeque magna ac in Erigegeron te canadensi. Involucrum disco aequale, circiter 3-seriale, turbinato-campanulatum, foliolis linearibus, extus hirsutis, intimis obtusiusculis, conduplicatis, 1 1/2'' longis, exterioribus multo minoribus. Rhachis plana, nuda. Pappus longus, plumosus, conformis, uniserialis, corollis disci aequalis. Corollae glabrae, disci: luteae, inferne sensim angustatae, dentibus erectis; radii: lingulatae, lingulis revolutis, coeruleis, parvis. Ovaria disci inania, oblonga, pilosa, diaphana. Achaenia radii obovato-elliptica, plano-compressa, hirsuto-canescentia, atropurpurea, linea vix parum longiora.
