Characteristics

Corolla 5-merous, joined less than halfway, radially symmetrical, yellow-green flushed yellow or red above, developing wide vents in mature buds; tube with a narrowly obovoid basal swelling extending just beyond calyx, then constricted for 2–3 mm, the upper part narrowly funnel-shaped.

Berry narrowly obovoid, with a short neck, topped when young by the circumscissile calyx.
