Characteristics

The twigs have short stiff hairs. The leaf blade is 2-4 cm long by 1-2 cm wide. They are oblong with a blunt point. There are 1 or 2 flowers in the axils of leaves. The corolla is 5-6 cm long and is yellow. The fruit is a red berry. It is 7-8 mm long by 4-5 mm wide.

Petiole 1–3 mm long; lamina 2–4 × 0.8–1.8 cm, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, bluntly pointed, crisped pubescent; basal nerves, or at least one of them, ascending from base into upper half, with the few upper nerves spreading.
Corolla 4.5–6 cm long, yellow or yellow-green; tube 1.5–2.5 cm long, slightly swollen at base for 7–10 mm, then constricted, becoming funnel shaped above; lobes narrowly linear-lanceolate above, spreading to recurved.
Flowers 1–2 in axils; pedicel 1–1.5 mm long; bract 1.5–3 mm long, cupular, with a small limb and gibbous beneath it, hairy at least at mouth.
Berry red, 7–8 × 4–5 mm, obovoid, with a short neck, becoming a little warted, crowned when young by long calyx.
Twigs densely covered with short stiff spreading forked hairs.
Calyx 4.5–6 mm long, tubular, coarsely ciliate at rim.
Stamen filaments whitish; anthers 4–5 mm long.
Receptacle 1.5 mm long.
