Stem woody, up to 10 cm. long, 5 mm. in diameter, with numerous flexuous roots 2–4 mm. in diameter.. Leaves 4–7, distichous, oblanceolate, 6–17 cm. long, 1.5–5.5 cm. wide, somewhat oblique or falcate, apex unequally bilobed, the longer lobe obtuse or subacute and up to 20 mm. long, the shorter rounded, 2 mm. long or absent, fleshy, dark green in colour dotted with black or dark brown especially towards the base.. Inflorescences arising below the leaves or axillary, erect, horizontal or pendent racemes bearing 4–16 flowers; peduncle terete, 4–8 cm. long, bearing 2–3 tight sheaths, black-dotted; rhachis ± zigzag, greyish green heavily dotted with brown, 1–3 mm. in diameter; bracts spreading, triangular, subacute or obtuse, 3–5 mm. long..
