Characteristics

Leaves 3–6(12), lying in one plane, 4–16 cm long, 2–4.8 cm wide near the apex, obtriangular, deeply and acutely 2-lobed at the apex with the lobes often divergent, the longer lobe to 3 cm long; the lamina dark olive-green often dotted with black, with longitudinal ridging.

Inflorescences 2–3 per plant, pendent from lower leaf axils, up to 27 cm long, 2–5-flowered, the flowers set 2–3 cm apart.
Dorsal sepal erect or arching over column, 25–50 × 7–9 mm; lateral sepals reflexed, 35–65 × 5–7 mm, oblique.
Lips deflexed, 30–45 × 7–10 mm, elliptic, abruptly constricted in lower half into a long, narrow acumen.
Epiphytic herb; stem woody, usually short but occasionally up to 15 cm long.
Peduncle grey-green with black dots, with 2–3 black, sheathing bracts.
Flowers white, the tepals usually strongly pink-tinged near the apex.
