Corolla tube 6·75–9·5 mm. long; corolla lobes 6·5–10·5 x 2–3·5 mm., 2·5–4·2 times as long as broad, ± linear, glabrous except for the ciliate margin and triangle of papillose indumentum at the mouth of the corolla tube.
Inflorescences 4–17-flowered, occasionally lateral as well as terminal; peduncles 0–7 long, pedicels 3–5 mm.; flowers white or creamy white, heavily scented.
Stamens inserted at 3±2–4·4 mm. from the base of the corolla tube (at ± 1/2 of its height); anthers 3–-3·5 mm. long, dorsal surface pubescent or glabrous.
Leaves thinly coriaceous, undulate, drying almost concolorous brown or green but paler beneath; petioles 1–2 mm. long, pubescent but soon glabrescent.
Young stems pubescent, soon glabrescent; bark of older twigs grey, faintly longitudinally wrinkled and with inconspicuous pale dot-like lenticels.
Calyx 1·5–2·5 mm. long; sepals free, lanceolate, ciliate, otherwise glabrous, their scales paired or rarely single or absent.
Follicles 17–30 cm. long, dark grey, smooth, curved, slightly torulose.
Scandent shrub or liane 1·5–15 m. high, sometimes forming thickets.
