Corolla yellow-orange, 8–11 mm. long, deeply 5-lobed; lobes longer than tube, spathulate to rounded, undulate, strongly veined.
Calyx 5.5–7.5 mm. long, subglabrous to hispid; lobes equal to subequal, 1.3–2 mm. long, broadly triangular, obtuse.
Erect herb to 10 cm. tall, almost leafless; stem thick, glabrous, simple or rarely once-branched.
Bracteoles 3.5–6 x 0.75–1 mm., oblong-spathulate, obtuse, shortly hispid-pilose.
Leaves 2–4.5 x 2.5–4 mm., scale-like, reniform, sessile, closely appressed.
Flowers crowded at ends of stems, subsessile.
Capsule 5 mm. in diam., globose.
Pedicels up to 0.5 mm. long.
