Characteristics

Leaves opposite, (10)15–30(50) x 1–4 mm., lanceolate-oblong to lanceolate-elliptic, retrorse hispid-pilose, short hispid-scabrid on margins and midrib beneath, glabrous above, apex acute or obtuse, narrowly or broadly cuneate at base, margin with 1–3(5) prominent teeth on each side.

Calyx 7–8.5(13) mm. long, prominently 10-nerved, stipitate-glandular mixed with short white hairs on nerves; lobes 1–1.75 mm. long, subequal, broadly triangular, obtuse, shortly hispid on margin.
Erect or decumbent annual herb, 6–14 cm. tall, simple or with branches up to 20 cm. long; branches mostly opposite, widely spreading, leafy.
Stamens subequal; filaments 3–6 mm. long, somewhat heavily bearded; anthers c. 1.5 mm. long, ellipsoid, apiculate.
Corolla yellow, (10)15–19 mm. long, subdensely short glandular-pilose without; lobes 4–5 mm. long, rounded.
Bracteoles c. 6 x 0.5 mm., narrowly linear, minutely hispid on margin.
Flowers solitary in axils of leaf-like bracts, pedicellate.
Bracts similar to leaves, longer or shorter than flowers.
Capsule c. 11 x 7 mm., broadly ovoid, obtuse.
