Erect, parasitic herb, up to 450 mm tall, leafy, usually parasitic on legumes. Stems relatively stout, much-branched from base. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, not acuminate. Flowers yellow.
Erect annual, 15–30(50) cm. tall; stems branched or rarely simple, stout, straight, densely to somewhat densely patent-hispid, floriferous almost throughout.
Calyx (4.5)7–8.5 mm. long, somewhat densely hispid; lobes (1.5)2.75–5 mm. long, subequal, triangular, obtuse, densely hispid on margin.
Bracteoles 5–8 mm. long, up to 1 mm. wide, linear to narrowly spathulate, hispid-ciliate.
Stoutly stemmed herb branching from near the base, or simple, 7-18 ins. high
Flowers solitary in axils of upper leaves or leaf-like bracts, pedicellate.
Corolla yellow to pale orange, purplish-veined, longer than calyx.
Stamens subequal; filaments glabrous; anthers not apiculate.
Capsule 5–6 x 5–6 mm., broadly ovoid to globose.
Few leaves that are often deciduous on drying
