Characteristics

Terminal leaflet 2–6 × 2.3–7.5 cm, lateral leaflets 2.5–7 × 1.8–7 cm; leaflets all rounded to truncate or subcordate at the base, the midlobe rounded to acute at the apex, ± apiculate, the lateral lobes broadly rounded, shortly pubescent with white hairs on both surfaces; petiole 2–7 cm long; stipules 5.5–8 × 3–4.5 mm, ovate, c. 10-nerved, pubescent.

Prostrate perennial herb. Leaves long-petioled, terminal leaflet 3-lobed, pubescent. Flowers in axillary racemes on long peduncles. Flowers mauve.
Corolla described as mauve, pinkish-purple or crimson and deep pink (pale yellow fide Leach & Noel 221); standard 1.3 × 1.3–1.4 cm.
Peduncles 19–25 cm long; rhachis 3–13 cm long; pedicels 4–8 mm long; bracts 5 mm long, linear, soon falling.
Procumbent herb with softly pubescent stems up to 30 cm long (and probably often longer).
Calyx tube 2.3–4 mm long, lateral lobes 1.7–2 mm long, lowest lobe 2.7 mm long.
Immature pods 4 × 0.6 cm, falcate, pubescent when young; style persistent.
Ovary 6 mm long; style 6–7.5 × 1–1.3 mm.
Ripe seeds not seen.
