Characteristics

Tree 5-15 m high. Branchlets ascending, to 30 cm long; articles 7-15 mm long, 0.8-1.3 mm diam., occasionally strongly waxy; phyllichnia rounded, verruculose or smooth; teeth 6-8, somewhat spreading, 0.7-1.2 mm long. Male spikes 3-8 cm long, 5 or 6 whorls per cm; anther 0.7-1.2 mm long. Cones coarse, usually shortly cylindrical, warty, pubescent at least when young, sessile or on peduncle to 32 mm long; cone body 15-40 mm long, 15-22 mm diam.; bracteoles broadly acute to obtuse, protuberance slightly shorter than bracteole body and divided into 4-8 bodies, pungent or obtuse. Samara 9-10 mm long.
