Characteristics

Similar to A. rigida . Shrub 1-3 m high. Branchlet to 18 cm long; articles 8-11 mm long, 0.7-0.9 mm diam.; teeth 7 or 8, erect to slightly spreading when old, 0.2-0.6 mm long, occasionally marcescent. Male spikes moniliform, 1-2.5 cm long, 7.5-8 whorls per cm; anther 0.7-0.8 mm long. Cones shortly cylindrical; peduncle 2-14 mm long; cone body 6-19 mm long, 6-10 mm diam. Samara 2.8-5 mm long.
