Characteristics

Leaves 3-foliolate; petiole up to 5·5 cm. long, pubescent; leaflets subequal or the terminal one up to twice as long as the lateral ones; petiolules up to 4(7) mm. long, usually shorter in the often subsessile lateral leaflets, pubescent; lamina of terminal leaflet up to 8 × 4 cm., elliptic, chartaceous, pubescent on both surfaces (mainly on the nerves) or nearly glabrous above, minutely glandular beneath, apex acute to rounded, margin irregularly and often remotely crenate-serrate or crenate-dentate, base cuneate to narrowly cuneate (rarely appreciably narrowed); lateral nerves 6–9 pairs.
