Radix tuberosa; ramuli floriferi 4-foliati sine bracteis et gemmis axillaribus, 4 mm. diam.; folia spathulata, apice fere truncata, saepe e parum infra apicem inferne angustata, supra plana vel superne concava, dorso convexa, brunneo grisea, punctis pallidoribus, minutissime papillatis, superne sat crebris, 1.7-2.1 cm. longa, apice 8-9 mm., medio 3-4 mm., lata, 2-3 mm. diam., vagina 2-3 mm. longa; pedunculus 7 mm. longus, basi bracteatus; bracteae basi dilatatae, ad 1.5 cm. longae sine vagina 4 mm., apice 5.5 mm. latae; receptaculum breviter obconicum, 4 mm. longum, ad 9 mm. diam.; sepala 5, deltoideo et oblonge ovata, 8-9 mm. longa, basi 5-7 mm. lata; petala 2-3-seriata, breviora pauca, obtusa, inferne angustata, laete lutea, evittata, 0.7-1 cm. longa, fere ad 3 mm. lata; filamenta conice conferta, nivea, basi papillata, ad 6 mm. longa, antheris pollineque albis; discus crenulatus; ovarium e margine gradatim per 1.5 mm. elevatum, lobis apicem versus leviter compressis; stigmata 10, gracillima, superne angustata, 4.5 mm. longa.

Compact, dwarf succulent, with a thick, truncate rootstock up to 200 mm long, 2 or 3 leaf-pairs to a branch, forming a rosette. Leaves ± erect, spathulate, with an apical thickening developing a triangle, ±30 x 17 mm, 5-6 mm thick, with prominent warts. Flowers 1-3, petals yellow. Fruit 10-locular, without a closing body.
