Characteristics

Plant to c. 1 m tall. Leaves sessile, linear-lanceolate, caudate-acuminate, glabrous, 10-30 cm long, 1.5-5 cm wide; ligule 1-2 mm long, truncate, ciliate. Inflorescence to c. 7 cm long, glabrous; bracts triangular, c. 5 mm long, ciliate, each subtending a cincinnus of at least 4 flowers; bracteoles ciliate, 4-5 mm long; pedicels to 2 mm long. Calyx 3-4 mm long. Corolla tube to c. 5 mm long; lobes c. 5 mm long. Labellum almost orbicular, shortly clawed, 1 cm diam., pink and white. Lateral staminodes absent. Filament 2 mm long; anther 2-3 mm long, without crest. Ovary to 4 mm long, sometimes sparsely pubescent, trilocular or imperfectly so. Capsule 1-1.5 cm diam.
