Characteristics

Bulb up to 12 cm. in diameter, with a distinct neck.. Leaves biflabellately spreading, 0.5–6 cm. broad, length varying with age, appearing before or after the flowers.. Scapes 1–3, 3–25 cm. long, 4–30-flowered.. Pedicels 2–4.5 cm. long.. Flowers pink, fading to magenta with age, sweetly scented; tube 6–13 cm. long; segments 4–8–13) cm. long, 3–5 mm. wide, gradually spreading from the base and spirally recurved towards the apex.. Stamens slightly spreading, pink, 4–8 cm. long; anthers 4–9 mm., curved; stamens and style exserted.. Fruit reddish, subglobose, 2–2.5 cm. in diameter.. Fig. 5.
