Culm sheaths persistent, irregularly brown spotted, triangular, leathery, white powdery, densely brown hairy, margins long ciliate; auricles absent; ligule ca. 1 cm, fimbriate; blade erect or reflexed. Leaf sheaths 7–8 cm, glabrous; ligule 1–2 mm, apex ciliate; blade 15–21 × 3–3.5 cm. Inflorescence unknown.
