Leaves held erect; blades linear, 1–4 cm. long, 1–2(–3) mm. wide, scabridulous above and ± ciliolate at the base of the midvein beneath; stipular sheath 2–5 mm. long, truncate or with 2 minute teeth ± 0.2 mm. long.. Inflorescences 2–5, situated at the apex and at the first 2 nodes beneath, capitulate, ± 6 mm. long, ± 6 mm. wide; peduncles 2–8 mm. long; pedicels 0–1.5 mm. long; bracts leaf-like, 3–9 mm. long, 1–2 mm. wide; flowers heterostylous.. Calyx-tube glabrous, 1.2 mm. long; lobes 1–1.2 mm. long, with ciliolate margins.. Corolla white or tinged lavender, glabrous or papillate outside; tube slightly funnel-shaped, 2.8–4 mm. long, pilose inside; lobes 2.2 mm. long, 1.6 mm. wide, lower half pilose inside..
