Characteristics

Corolla white, glabrous outside; tube somewhat funnel-shaped, 4 mm. long, pilose inside; lobes 2.5–7.5 x 1 mm., oblong-elliptic, the lower half pilose inside.

Perennial herb with erect graceful stems 45 cm. tall from a several-headed rhizome; stems ± strict, not or sparsely branched, glabrous.
Calyx tube c. 1.3 mm. long, ovoid, glabrous; limb 0.3 mm. long with triangular lobes 0.8–1.1 mm. long, the margins slightly ciliolate.
Inflorescences subumbellate cymes restricted to apex of stem or with few flowers at next lower axil; pedicels all 2–3 mm. long.
Leaves held erect; blades 3–4 cm. x 0.5–1 mm., linear-filiform, ciliolate on the margins and scabridulous above.
Styles 5.5 mm. long in long-styled flowers, the stigmatic lobes 1.3 mm. long.
Short-styled flowers and fruits not known.
Stipular sheath ± 5 mm. long, truncate.
