Characteristics

Plants with erect stems 10-15 mm tall, densely covered in old leaf-sheaths; leaves 5-6, spreading horizontally, greenish-grey, linear-lorate, 30-50 x 6-7 mm. Inflorescences with a solitary flower; pedicels 30-40 mm long. Flowers greenish-white. Sepals linear-lanceolate, acute, flat, somewhat reflexed , 15-18 x 4-5 mm. Petals similar to sepals, but narrower and shorter, 10-15 x 2-3 mm. Lip ovate, acute to acuminate, 13-20 x 12-14 mm, flat; spur slender cylindrical, to 130 mm long. Capsules obconical, 20 x 8 mm, stiffly erect.

Epiphytic herb. Stem 1.0-2.5 mm long. Leaves linear, 30-50 x 6-8 mm. Inflorescence 1-flowered. Petals lanceolate, acute, 20 x 3 mm. Lip ovate-elliptic, 26 x 15 mm. Callus at base of lip ridge-like, tapering to apex. Flower white with a green ovary.
Lip 22–26 × 13–15 mm, ovate, elliptic, concave, subacute; spur 12–15 cm long, very slender, sigmoid or coiled in bud, becoming straight and pendent.
Leaves up to 6 but usually 3–4, distichous, dark green, 3–5.5 cm × 6–8 mm, linear, coriaceous, obscurely 2-lobed at the apex.
Inflorescences 1–2, arising below the leaves, 1-flowered. Peduncle 3–4 mm long; bract 4 mm long, ovate.
Dwarf, epiphytic herb; stem 1–2 cm long; roots 2–3 mm in diameter, pale grey, slightly verrucose.
Sepals 20–25 × 5 mm, lanceolate, acute, spreading; petals similar but smaller, 18–20 × 3 mm.
Capsule c. 2.5 cm long, winged, remaining on the plant for over a year before dehiscing.
Flowers large for size of plant, glistening white, the tip of the spur green.
Pedicel and ovary 20 mm long, the ovary winged, triangular in cross-section.
