Characteristics

Compact to clumped, succulent shrub, up to 30 mm tall, stems, hypocotyls and roots thickened. Leaves trigonous, mucronate, epidermis with low papillae. Flowers solitary, 12-20 mm diam., petals magenta, filamentous staminodes white or white with magenta tips. Fruit partly disintegrating, with remnants star-shaped.
