Characteristics

Shrubs, prostrate or mat-forming, 0.1-0.5 m; burl absent; twigs sparsely glandular-hairy. Leaves: petiole 4-7 mm, (glandular-hairy); blade glau-cous, dull, obovate to oblan-ceolate or widely elliptic, 1-3.5 × 0.5-2.5 cm, base cuneate or obtuse, margins entire, plane, surfaces papillate, ± scabrous, midvein sparsely, finely glandular-hairy. Inflorescences racemes, simple or 1-branched; immature inflorescence pendent, (globose), axis 0.5-1 cm, 1+ mm diam., sparsely glandular-hairy; bracts not appressed, scalelike, awl-like, 2-5 mm, apex acute, surfaces glandular-hairy. Pedicels 3-6 mm, finely glandular-hairy. Flowers: corolla white, urceolate; ovary glandular-hairy. Fruits globose, 6-7 mm diam., glabrous. Stones connate into single sphere. 2n = 26.
