Stem slender, 1–1.5 mm. thick, up to 10 cm. long (rarely up to 20 cm.), with numerous persistent leaf-bases.. Leaves 3–7; petiole slender, 12–50 mm. long, densely pubescent; lamina ovate or oblong-ovate, up to 45 × 30 mm., sparsely pubescent on both surfaces, acute, basally cordate, coarsely double-dentate.. Racemes long-pedunculate, 2–10-flowered; axes up to 10 mm.; peduncles up to 8 cm. long, pubescent; pedicels filiform, pubescent, up to 18 mm. long.. Bracts about 3 mm. long, lanceolate.. Calyx-segments ovate, hastate or cordate, acute, ciliate, about 2 mm. long at anthesis, somewhat accrescent.. Corolla pink or mauve, glabrous, up to 9 mm. long; lobes 2–3 mm. long, obtuse or emarginate.. Filaments about 0.4 mm. long; anthers about 1.5 mm. long.. Capsule globose, about 2 mm. in diameter.
