Species

Angiosperms > Fabales > Fabaceae > Argyrolobium

Stems rather slender, subappressed pubescent, often with longer weakly spreading hairs interspersed.. Leaflets mostly elliptic-lanceolate to elliptic or elliptic-oblong, sometimes the uppermost lanceolate and the lowermost obovate, up to 26–68 mm. long and 16–24 mm. wide, pilose on both surfaces, often rather thinly so; petioles mostly 3–5 mm. long, but lowermost sometimes up to 7–12 mm. long.. Stipules linear-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, ± 6–12 mm. long, 2–3 mm. wide, rarely (in Angola) ovate, up to 16 mm. long and 9 mm. wide, caudate, joined only at the base.. Racemes subumbelliform on 5–40(–115) mm. long peduncles, ±3–12-flowered; bracts linear-oblanceolate to lanceolate, ± 4–7 mm. long.. Calyx 9–12 mm. long, rather densely hairy with appressed silky hairs; upper lobes oblong-lanceolate.. Standard suborbicular, 11–14 mm. long, clear yellow, appressed silvery pilose outside; wings with rows of folds between the veins towards the base; keel-petals 8–10 mm. long, with a crest on the lateral surface towards the base and a claw shorter than the blade-width, basally ciliolate on the upper margin.. Pod up to 48–56 mm. long and 5 mm. wide, densely silky pubescent, ± 12–18-seeded.. Seeds subreniform-orbicular to slightly quadrangular in outline, ± 3 mm. long, brown.
More

Corolla bright yellow; standard 11–14 mm long, widely obovate to subcircular, abruptly contracted into a very short claw, undulate at the margins, silvery hairy outside; wings 8–10 mm long, oblong, with rows of folds between the upper veins; keel ± as long as the wings, curved, auriculate with a crest on the lateral surface, claw 2.5–3 mm long.
Inflorescence terminal or sometimes leaf-opposed, racemose or contracted and subumbelliform, 2–6-flowered or rarely up to 12-flowered; peduncle 3–50(115) mm long; bracts 4–7 mm long, linear-lanceolate.
Low spreading shrub or suffrutex up to 70 cm high, with a few simple or laxly branched stems from a small woody rootstock.
Calyx 8–13 mm long, densely appressed hairy; upper lip divided to near the base with the lobes lanceolate.
Stems and branches usually slender, ± densely subappressed pubescent with some longer spreading hairs.
Seeds 2.5–3 mm long, ovoid, subreniform-orbicular or slightly quadrangular in outline, dark brown.
Pod up to 55 × 5 mm, linear-oblong, flat, appressed silky pubescent, 10–18-seeded.
