Characteristics

Rhizome erect, up to 12 mm long, up to 4 mm in diam., with crowded stipe bases and dark brown scales with paler margins, ovate to broadly ovate, up to 3 x 1.5 mm. Fronds suberect to arching, up to 340 mm long. Stipe greenish brown to greyish brown, with narrow green wings when fresh, sparsely scaled. Lamina narrowly elliptic, up to 240 x 55 mm, 1-pinnate-pinnatifid to 2-pinnate, with up to 25 pinna pairs. Rachis apex often elongated and terminating in a proliferous bud. Pinnae short-petiolate, firmly herbaceous to thinly coriaceous, up to 26 x 13 mm, broadly trapeziform to dimidiate, up to 8 x 2 mm, divided into linear to narrowly elliptic lobes, acroscopically developed, proximal acroscopic lobe always 2-4-fid, glabrous adaxially, abaxially with appressed substellate scales. Sori linear, up to 4 mm long, a single sorus per lobe. Indusium membranous, elliptic, entire, up to 1 mm wide.
