Characteristics

Fern with erect fronds arising in rosettes. Rhizome erect, scaly. Stipe indistinct, 1–4 cm long, 1–2.5 mm diam. Rachis prominent only on lower surface. Lamina very narrowly elliptic or obovate, simple, 18–70 cm long, 1–3.5 cm wide, bases narrowly cuneate, margins entire and slightly undulate, apices long-acuminate, lower surface scaly, veins free. Sori well-separated, to 14 mm long, occupying more than three-quarters the width of the lamina, not reaching midribs or margins. Perispores pale with fimbriate broad ridges and veined or ribbed lacunae; exospores 42.3–53.2 × 26.1–32.6 µm (means).
