Culm sheaths deciduous, ± stiffly brown hairy, margins glabrous, apex convex; auricles unequal, oblong, ends ascending, usually partly covered by blade; ligule ca. 1.5 mm, denticulate, ciliolate; blade deciduous, erect, base slightly rounded, ca. 1/4 × as wide as sheath apex. Leaf blade linear-lanceolate, 5.5–21 × 0.8–1.8 cm, abaxially pubescent, adaxially glabrous. Inflorescence unknown.
