Characteristics

Lianas to 15 m. Trunk stout; branches lenticellate, branchlets densely dark brown pubescent. Petiole 1-4 cm; leaf blade elliptic or obovate, 8-25 X 5-13.5 cm, sparsely puberulent or glabrescent adaxially, densely tomentose or velvety abaxially; midvein and lateral veins densely hairy. Cymes 13-20 cm, 9-13-flowered, densely pubescent; peduncle 6.5-12 cm. Pedicel 3.5-6 cm. Sepals narrowly ovate, 1-1.6 cm. Corolla white, tube 1-2.7 cm, cylindric proximally, broadly campanulate distally; lobes broadly ovate, 2.5-4 cm, rounded at apex. Stamens exserted; filaments 2-3 cm. Ovary pubescent. Style 2-3 cm, pubescent. Fl. spring-summer.
