Characteristics

Scrambling shrub, probably evergreen, 1–2 m high; much branched, the young branches pubescent.. Leaves ovate, lanceolate or elliptic, 4–12 cm long, 1.5–6.6 cm wide, base truncate to attenuate, margins entire or obscurely crenate, apex acute to acuminate, glabrous to sparsely pubescent and eglandular on both surfaces; petiole 5–15 mm.. Glomerules 2–80 together in cymes, terminal; individual glomerules obovoid and 9–13 mm across, with up to 80 capitula; capitula with 2 female and 2 male florets; phyllaries 3 mm long; paleae 4.5–5.5 mm long.. Flowers of unknown colour; female florets 1.5–2.5 mm long, glabrous; male florets 2.5–3.5 mm long, glabrous.. Achenes of female florets obovoid, 2–3 mm long, with twin-hairs; pappus of 2 lateral scales 1–2 mm long and 1–4 shorter scales on the abaxial side.. Achenes of male florets 0.5–1 mm long, with pappus of 6–15 flat scales 0.5–3 mm long.
