Shrub 1–3 m high, deciduous, sparsely branched; young branches glabrous.. Leaves subsessile, lanceolate or oblanceolate, 1–5.5 cm long, 0.3–1.2 cm wide, base cuneate, margins entire and revolute, apex obtuse to acuminate, glabrous except for some scattered hairs on the margins and sometimes on the veins beneath.. Glomerules solitary and terminal, globose and 10–16 mm across, with up to 60 capitula; capitula with 2 female and 2 male florets; phyllaries 2.5–3.5 mm long; paleae 3.5–5.5 mm long.. Flowers white; female florets 2–3 mm long, glabrous; male florets 3.5–5 mm long, glabrous.. Achenes of female florets narrowly obovoid, 2–3.5 mm long, with twin-hairs; pappus of 2 lateral scales 1–2.5 mm long and 4–10 shorter scales on the abaxial side.. Achenes of male florets 1–1.5 mm long, with pappus of 10–16 flat scales 2.5–3.5 mm long.
