Leaves petioled; lamina elliptic 2·5–8·5 × 0·8–3 cm., acute or obtuse and apiculate sometimes retuse, more or less acuneate at the base, glabrescent and green or silvery pubescent above, silky pubescent to glabrescent with glandular points beneath, fascicled in the leaf axils at the lower nodes; petiole up to 2·5 cm. long, slightly winged.
Flowers in 1–3-flowered cymes aggregated towards the ends of the branchlets; peduncle and pedicels up to 16 mm. long; bracts small.
Seeds oblong in outline, blackish with narrow hyaline golden wings on the edges and with a reticulate pattern on the surface.
Corolla bright blue, funnel-shaped, subentire, up to 23 mm. long, silky pilose on medpetaline areas.
Ovary glabrous; style bifid from about the middle; stigmas ellipsoid.
Sepals oblong-elliptic 7–8 mm. long abruptly acute silky pubescent.
Climbing shrub with woody rootstock and numerous small shoots.
Capsule globose, shortly apiculate, glabrous.
Stems ridged, sparsely appressedly pubescent.
