Bothriocline virungae Wech.

Species

Angiosperms > Asterales > Asteraceae > Bothriocline

Characteristics

The Uganda record is based on a single, doubtfully localized specimen: “Uganda, Lac Georges”, Bredo 4616 (BR!) and its occurrence in Uganda therefore requires confirmation. The species seems very close to B. ugandensis and was treated by Lisowski as a synonym. Wechuysen sees it as distinct based on the smaller capitula, arranged in Groups of 4-7, with triangular outer phyllaries and smaller achenes (1.5-1.6 mm long).
