Characteristics

Lianas to 10 m. Young branches puberulent. Petiole 1.5-1.8 cm; leaf blade oblong, 6-15 X 2-4.8 cm, somewhat leathery, apex short acuminate, acumen less than 5 mm; lateral veins 8-12 pairs, subparallel, subhorizontally spreading. Cymes terminal and axillary, shorter than leaves; peduncle 5-11 cm; bracts and bracteoles triangular, ca. 1 mm. Pedicel 2-10 mm, puberulent. Sepals ovate, ca. 1.5 mm, ciliate. Corolla white, tube ca. 7 mm; lobes ovate, ca. 2 mm. Disc shorter than ovary, apex puberulent. Fruit globose or subglobose, 3-5 X 3-4 cm. Fl. Apr-Jun, fr. Aug-Dec.
