Characteristics

Plants erect, to 240 mm, slender; leaves 4-8, cauline, lax, to 45 x 6 mm, lanceolate, acute, glabrous. Inflorescences lax to dense spikes to 80 mm. Flowers numerous, c. 15 x 7 mm, sepals and petals yellow-green, lip with purple spots; ovaries c. 10 mm long, dark purple. Sepals subequal, free, shallowly concave, obtuse, subacute, c. 4 x 2.5 mm, 1 mm deep. Petals shielding gynostemium, triangular, obtuse, c. 4 x 2 mm, 1 mm deep. Lip spathulate, c. 5 mm long, strongly reflexed; limb with short, fleshy, parallel keels, saccate; blade flat, broadly cuneate, bilobed to trilobed with a very small triangular midlobe, c. 5 x 4 mm. Rostellum less than 1 mm tall, 3-lobed, lateral lobes bearing the viscidia, central lobe reduced; anther c. 2 mm tall.

Inflorescence a dense raceme. Flowers yellow-green, purple spots on lip; bracts leafy. Sepals free; dorsal sepal 4.5 mm long; lateral sepals ascending or spreading, recurved. Petals oblique, similar to dorsal sepal. Lip 5 mm long, broadest at apex; spur absent. Flowering time Dec.-Mar.
Lip 5–7 mm long, the hypochile saccate but not forming a spur; epichile 4.8–6 × 3.5–5.5 mm, 3-lobed near the apex, the lobes triangular, c. 1 mm long, the side lobes broader than the mid-lobe.
Inflorescence 6–9.5 × 2.5 cm, laxly or densely several to many-flowered; ovary and pedicel 8–10 mm long; bracts leaf-like, up to 25 mm long, longer than the lowest flowers.
Leaves c. 8, up to 8 × 3 cm, bright green, lanceolate or ovate, acute, the 2 lowest sheath-like.
Flowers whitish-or yellowish-green, the inside of the petals and lip spotted with purple-brown.
Sepals 4.5–5.6 × 2.5–3 mm, ovate, obtuse or apiculate, projecting forwards.
Slender terrestrial herb 20–35 cm tall with fleshy roots.
Petals 4.5 × 1.5–2.7 mm, lanceolate, obtuse.
