Characteristics

Leaves 1.5–4(7) cm long; petioles 3–8(10) mm long; rachis deeply canaliculate above with raised and winged margins, glabrous or pubescent; leaflets in 2–4(6) contiguous or overlapping pairs, increasing is size distally; proximal leaflet pairs 1–4 × 0.8–2 cm, the rest 2–6 × 1–2.5 cm, oblong, elliptic, oval or obovate, rounded, obliquely retuse or emarginate at the apex, obliquely cuneate, rounded or cuneate at the base, midvein central or subcentral, with 3–4 veins diverging from the proximal leaflet base.

Stipules early-caducous, up to 15 × 2 mm, shortly connate at the base, erect, filiform, linear or lanceolate; auricles reniform to semi-circular, caducous independently of the stipules.
Inflorescences terminal and/or axillary racemes, up to 5 cm long, pubescent with dark or brown hairs; bracts 2–3 × 1.5–2 mm, caducous, ovate to oblong, acute at the apex.
Shrub to 6(10) m tall, branching low down or at ground level; bark smooth, non-scaly, reticulately fissured at the base, greyish white.
Pods yellowish brown or light brown, 5–9 × 2–3 cm, oblong to obovate, with spreading ventral flanges.
Sepals 0–4, 0.5–3 × 0.5–1.5 mm, linear, linear-lanceolate or rudimentary, ciliate on the margins.
Flowers up to 9 × 5 mm; pedicels 2–4 mm long; bracteoles 5–10 × 3–5 mm, obovate or orbicular.
Ovary 2–5 × 1–2 mm, up to 7-ovulate, densely pubescent, stipe to 3 mm long.
Stamens 10, united to 6 mm at the base; filaments 7–15 mm long.
Young branchlets glabrous, or pubescent with brown hairs.
Seeds up to 4, 12–20 × 10–15 mm, oblong to ovoid.
Dormant axillary buds globose or ovoid.
