Characteristics

Leaves 3–15 cm long; rachis deeply canaliculate with raised winged margins; leaflets in 17–36 pairs, contiguous to overlapping, progressively decreasing in size distally, the proximal leaflet pairs 1.5–2.5 times larger than the distal ones, 10–30 × 1.5–8 mm, linear-falcate, narrowly triangular or oblong, obtuse or retuse at the apex, obliquely rounded to truncate or subcordate at the base, glabrous or pubescent; midveins subcentral, with 3–5 secondary veins diverging from the proximal leaflet base.

Stipules caducous, 10–20 × 2–4 mm, shortly connate at the base, linear, falcate, sometimes subfoliaceous, auricles 1–5 × 0.5–3 mm, reniform, digitate, pubescent.
Sepals 5, 2–2.5 × 0.5–2 mm, narrowly oblong, lanceolate, obovate to elliptic, imbricate, margins densely ciliate.
Inflorescences of terminal simple racemes up to 6 cm long; bracteoles 6–8 × 3–6 mm, orbicular to obovate.
Ovary 3–4 × 1–1.5 mm, densely pubescent, up to 5-ovulate, stipe 1.5–2.5 mm long; style 8–10 mm long.
Stamens 10–12, united to 1–2 mm at the base; filaments 8–13 mm long.
Petals 1–5, up to 6 × 1.5 mm, linear to spathulate.
Pods up to 6 × 3 cm; ventral flanges suberect.
Stems 10–45 cm tall from a woody rootstock.
Flowers 3–7 × 3–5 mm; pedicels 1–3 mm long.
Dormant axillary buds much flattened.
