Succulent, acaulescent, perennial herb; rosettes erect to decumbent, dividing, with vertically elongated, rhizomatous base. Leaves bluish green, yellowish towards base, semi-terete, up to 0.49 m long, erect to spreading or curved downwards, in basal rosette. Inflorescence erect to curved, up to 0.7 m high, with basally lax raceme; bracts lanceolate, base auriculate, apex long aristate, margins lacerate; pedicels reflexed to revolute when barren. Flowers yellow. Flowering time Aug.-Nov.
