Characteristics

Plant 4.5-27 cm tall. Basal leaves usually 2. Scape unbranched or with 1 or 2 branches; bracts 1 or 2; lower bract often nearly basal, markedly dilated basally, with equal or longer narrow apical part; upper bract similar, 35-160 mm long. Umbel with 3-8 flowers, occasionally to 20; outer bracts usually relatively large, the longest 15-45 mm long, rarely only to 9 mm; longest mature pedicel 20-60 mm long. Buds deep pink. Tepals at anthesis not distinctly clawed, pinkish white with deep pink abaxial mid-stripe; nectaries present. Anthers 1.5-2.5 mm long, purple. Capsule slightly thickened but not glossy on angles.
