Characteristics

Leaf often withered at flowering, 80–200 × 4–5 mm. Flower stem 200–350 mm tall, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 50–70 mm across, with faint smell like hot metal, yellowish cream with red markings; sepals and petals with short, dark brown to blackish, filamentous tips. Dorsal sepal erect, 30–45 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely decurved, 30–50 × 2.5–4 mm. Petals similarly arranged, 25–50 × 2–3 mm. Labellum 10–13 × 7–9 mm, yellowish cream with red radiating lines; margins with short blunt teeth; tip recurved. Calli anvil-shaped, creamy-yellow, 8–13 pairs in two rows. Column 10–12 × 5 mm, cream with red marks.
