Leaf 80–150 × 8–13 mm. Flower stem 150–300 mm tall, 1-flowered. Flowers 60–80 mm across, cream to pale yellow, sometimes suffused with red markings; sepals and petals with thin red tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 45–70 × 2–3 mm. Lateral sepals spreading with drooping tips, 40–60 × 4–5 mm, widely divergent. Petals spreading, 35–45 × 2–3 mm. Labellum 15–18 × 10–12 mm, yellowish, sometimes with red suffusions; margins with numerous red teeth to 1.5 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 6–8, c. 1.5 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 1.2 mm long, yellowish or reddish, in 4 or 6 rows almost to labellum apex. Column 9–11 × 5–6 mm, transparent with red markings; basal glands c. 1 mm long, ovoid, yellow.
Once widely distributed in Riverina, but now highly localised and rare in a few relict patches of vegetation. Found growing on flats and gentle slopes in Callitris woodland and box-ironbark forests in sandy loam; also on slopes of consolidated dunes in freely draining sands.
