Leaf 120–220 × 10–18 mm, with long silky hairs. Flower stem 300–600 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 70–90 mm across, greenish white to white; sepals and petals with thick, dark brown to blackish tips (no clubs). Dorsal sepal erect, 90–130 × 4–4.5 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely deflexed to drooping, 100–150 × 7–10 mm, widely divergent. Petals similarly arranged, 75–95 × 5–6.5 mm. Labellum white to cream, 20–25 × 12–14 mm; margins with numerous, clubbed, purplish teeth to 3 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 8–10, c. 1 mm long, crowded. Lamina calli to 1.8 mm long, purplish, in 6 or 8 rows almost to labellum apex. Column 15–17 × 6–7 mm, transparent with red markings; basal glands c. 1.5 mm long, ovoid, yellow with red hairs.
Highly localised and rare; previously more widely distributed and common (once abundant around Adelaide), but now restricted to relict patches of vegetation. Found growing among shrubs and grass on sheltered slopes in open forest in freely draining, fertile loam.
