Leaf narrowly lanceolate, 60–90 × 4–8 mm. Flower stem 150–250 mm tall, wiry, reddish, 1-flowered. Flowers 20–30 mm across, cream to pink with red lines, labellum mostly dark red to maroon, base cream with prominent red veins, calli dark red; column cream to green; sepals with short, thick, dark red to blackish clubs 3–7 × 0.8 mm; petals lacking clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 23–35 × 2–2.5 mm. Lateral sepals stiffly decurved, 23–35 × 3–4 mm, divergent. Petals spreading to stiffly deflexed, 20–30 × 2–3 mm. Labellum stiffly hinged, 8–11 × 5–8 mm; margins with 5–12 pairs of purplish red teeth to 0.8 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 4–6, c. 1 mm long. Lamina calli to 1.5 mm long, maroon, in 4 rows. Column 9–11 × 3–5 mm, broadly winged; basal glands c. 1 mm long, obovoid, yellow with red base.
Known from a single locality, growing among scattered low shrubs, forbs and tussocks on a gentle slope in open forest dominated by red stringybark and scribbly gum (Eucalyptus rossii).
