Characteristics

Leaf linear-lanceolate, 80–120 × 5–10 mm, hairy. Flower stem 250–350 mm tall, 1-flowered, hairy. Flower 50–60 mm across, with scent like an overheated electric motor, pale greenish cream with red markings; sepals with long, thick, purplish black to reddish black clubs 6–13 mm long; petals without clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 40–45 × 1.5–2 mm, incurved. Lateral sepals divergent, 40–45 × 3–3.5 mm, stiffly spreading, tips drooping. Petals stiffly spreading, 30–35 × 1.3–1.5 mm, tips drooping. Labellum narrowly ovate, 13–15 × 8–10 mm, green to cream at base; large, recurved, maroon apex; margins with 6–8 pairs of cream to reddish clubbed teeth to 1.5 mm long. Calli to 2 mm long, dark maroon, in 4 rows extending halfway to apex. Column 8–10 × 4.5–5 mm, green.
