Characteristics

Leaf lanceolate, 50–80 × 6–10 mm, sparsely hairy. Flower stem 120–300 mm tall, 1-or 2-flowered. Flowers 50–60 mm across, creamy yellow, often with red streaks; sepals with thick, dark red, flattened clubs 10–20 mm long; petals lacking clubs or occasionally with short clubs. Dorsal sepal erect, 45–60 × 3–4 mm, incurved. Lateral sepals divergent, 45–60 × 3–4 mm, spreading stiffly or drooping. Petals similarly arranged, 30–40 × 2.5–3 mm. Labellum 11–14 × 8–10 mm, maroon, base whitish; margins with numerous thin, dark red, marginal teeth to 2 mm long, shorter towards apex; tip recurved. Calli to 1 mm long, dark red, shiny, in 4 or 6 rows onto base of midlobe. Column 10–11 × 4.5 mm, transparent with reddish markings.
