Leaf 100–250 × 5–10 mm. Flower stem 300–600 mm tall, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 40–80 mm across, greenish yellow heavily suffused with maroon, sometimes wholly maroon; sepals and petals with thick brown clubs 4–25 × 1.4 mm. Dorsal sepal erect, 35–65 × 2.5–3 mm. Lateral sepals spreading then decurved, 35–65 × 3–6 mm, divergent. Petals arranged similarly, 30–50 × 2–4 mm. Labellum 15–27 × 11–16 mm, greenish yellow with a maroon apex; margins with numerous spreading, linear teeth to 10 mm long; tip recurved. Basal calli 10–12, c. 2 mm long, erect. Lamina calli to 2 mm long, whitish to maroon, in 4 rows to base of midlobe. Column 15–20 × 7–10 mm, yellowish with red markings; basal glands c. long, oblong, yellow with a red basal stalk.
Locally common in high rainfall areas of the lower SW; growing in tall karri forest, open forest, woodland, coastal scrub and heath in freely draining soil.
